A Mother’s Day Reflection for Women Entrepreneurs
As Mother’s Day approaches, I find myself reflecting deeply on the women who shaped me — the mothers, grandmothers, and mother-figures who have quietly (and sometimes fiercely) carried us forward.
For me, as an immigrant woman entrepreneur, my journey was not one I walked alone. I carry with me the resilience of my mother, the quiet wisdom of my grandmother, and the strength of every woman who came before me. Their sacrifices, their love, and their belief in my dreams became the foundation on which I built my life and business.
I will never forget the moment when I told my mother I wanted to open my own business — but I felt scared and told her I didn’t have the money to start. She looked me in the eyes and told me, “Make a way. Change your fate.” Her unwavering belief in me pushed me forward, even when I doubted myself. If it weren’t for my mother’s encouragement, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Now that I’ve become a mother myself, I understand even more deeply the sacrifices, love, and strength it takes to nurture and guide someone’s growth. I appreciate the women who helped me become who I am, and I carry their lessons not only into my business but also into the way I raise and inspire my own family.
Mother’s Day is more than flowers and cards — it’s a chance to pause and honor the women who lifted us up when we were tired, who encouraged us when we doubted, and who taught us the values we now carry into our work and leadership.
To all the women entrepreneurs out there: take a moment this Mother’s Day to reflect on the women who shaped you. Whether it’s your own mother, a grandmother, a mentor, or a mother-figure who guided your path — their strength lives in you.

For me, this Mother’s Day, I honor my roots and the incredible women who gave me the courage to leave home, build a business, and now help others rise. Every time I coach a new entrepreneur or launch a new course, I know I’m carrying their light forward.
